This is a souvenir Grand Tour sculpture, hand carved from one block of exotic wood, possibly Olive Wood. It depicts Paolina Borghese Bonaparte as Venus Victorious. It is a copy of the marble state at the Borghese Gallery in Rome by Antonio Canova 1757 – 1822. This Neo-Classical carving would have been carved in the early 1900’s, with the base later applied. The base measures 13 /12 x 5 ¼. From top to bottom it measures 7 ½ inches and weighs 2 kilos. Free packing, priced in USD.
