Description

Here we have a really nice set of Wedgewood cufflinks. The typical blue and white ceramic with Clipper Ship Design. I’m going to compare it a Galleon style ship. There is a small flaw on one of the cuff links. It is along the front sheets of the carving. It’s a small darker line. The rest of the etchings and cufflinks look great. Both have a stamp on the back that says, “Gold Plated, Wedgewood, England”.

The dimensions are 1-inch diameter, weight is 19 grams, the stem is 3/4 inch

The name of the potter who designed this style is Josiah Wedgewood. He mastered the art of, “the blue and white” pottery, then he started mixing several different types of colors. Now you can get several colors of his pottery. He had his start in 1759 at the age of 29 when he created the “Wedgewood” brand. 260 years later, his brand and his style still inspire artists, and is still creating the Wedgewood pottery. There is the one really interesting part of his history. That is, he is the grandfather of “Charles Darwin”.
